About

Bcn Urbaness Hotels Del Comte

Bcn Urbaness Hotels Del Comte is a two-star hotel on Carrer de la Diputació, in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Its location is the main draw: Urgell metro station is a 3-minute walk, and an airport bus stop is about 5 minutes away on foot, making it easy to reach the centre and the airport without a car.

The hotel keeps things simple — a lift, 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a vending machine for snacks and drinks. Rooms are compact but fitted with air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and a kettle. Guests consistently point to the cleanliness and the helpful staff, and the breakfast buffet offers a solid spread for the price.

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Location that makes the city easy — Urgell metro is a 3-minute walk, and the airport bus stop is about 5 minutes away. Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla are within a 10–15 minute walk, with shops and bakeries right on the corner.
  • Clean and well-kept rooms — Guests repeatedly comment on the cleanliness of the rooms and facilities, with daily housekeeping and fresh towels.
  • Helpful and attentive staff — The reception team earns high marks for friendliness and efficiency, with several guests noting they were greeted warmly on return.
  • Solid breakfast value — The buffet offers a range of hot and cold options — eggs, sausages, cheese, ham, fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee — that guests find good for the price.

Worth weighing

5 to weigh
  • Rooms are compact — The standard rooms are small, though guests note they are not cramped. The trade-off is space for the central location and price.
  • No fridge in rooms — Several guests mention the absence of a refrigerator, which can be a downside for longer stays or summer visits.
  • Pillows may not suit everyone — At least one guest found the pillows uncomfortable, a point worth considering if you're picky about sleep support.
  • Breakfast can get monotonous — While the spread is good, longer stays may find the daily offering repetitive. Also, no custom eggs are available even on request.
  • Shower could use an update — A guest described the shower as 'tired' and noted it takes a few minutes for hot water to arrive. This is a minor issue but worth noting.

“Convenient location, easy access to the metro, clean facilities.”

“Everything was great during my 3 days. The location is marvellous, just off Urgell metro, with restaurants, coffee shops, and a bakery nearby. Our room had a private safe, central heating, and a coffee/tea maker. Glad there was a bathtub.”

8.3Verified guest

“Excellent location: from the airport, the second bus stop is a 3-minute walk from the hotel (about 20 minutes from the airport). Close to the metro, and if you prefer walking, Plaza Catalunya and the start of La Rambla are about 10 minutes on foot. Plenty of coffee shops and a supermarket nearby. Breakfast is good for Spain: coffee from a machine, cheese, sausage, ham, sometimes red fish, tomatoes, 3–4 kinds of bread, yogurt, fruit (pineapple, melon, apple, sometimes strawberries), and hot options like sausages and omelette. Unfortunately, they won't make eggs even on request or for money. Also a few kinds of pastries, cereal, milk, decent juices. You won't go hungry, though long stays might find the breakfast monotonous. Rooms are clean and small, with a free safe (fits a 15-inch laptop), kettle, and tea/coffee set. No fridge, but that's fine in summer. Comfortable beds, extra blankets available. An absolute hit in terms of price, quality, and location.”

“Positive experience. The location was great, just a block from the metro and easy to explore the city. The room was spacious and clean, and I appreciated the daily towel changes. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a comfy stay.”

“The hotel is very well located. It's a quiet, non-touristy area, with no street noise at all. Plaza Catalunya is a 15-minute walk away. A 3-minute walk gets you to the metro station and bus stops, including an airbus stop to/from the airport, which is 5 minutes on foot. Right on the corner there's a good grocery store (open until 21:00) and a bakery with amazing pastries that opens early (around 8). You can get baked goods and coffee there, as the hotel has a small selection and no cappuccino (only coffee with milk). The hotel breakfast is good: omelettes, sausages, cheeses, and delicious crispy bread. Fruits like pineapple, melon, and strawberry were very tasty. The standard room is small but not cramped, with a comfortable mattress. Pillows are not comfortable. The bedding is clean, and housekeeping comes daily. No fridge. There's enough storage in the wardrobe. The bathroom is not cramped, but the shower is tired (seems to be a common issue). Water pressure is fine, though you need to wait a few minutes for hot water. Towels are not new but clean. Toiletries include toothbrushes and soap. Soundproofing is typical — you can hear neighbors, but we were lucky that no one disturbed our sleep at night. It was 15°C outside, and the room was comfortable. A good hotel to sleep in, with a humane price. I'd recommend it.”
